Uptown residents have a big problem with the proposed Morningside Heights Historic District: It's too small! Preservationists have been campaigning for landmark status since 1996, and now they say the Landmarks Preservation Commission is basically just covering Columbia's campus, leaving out historic brownstone blocks and icons like St. John the Divine. They're also hating on LPC for meeting with Columbia officials but not the local community board. [DNAinfo; previously]
