Just down the street from Michael Feinstein's awesome townhouse sits a far less fortunate specimen: 162 East 63rd Street, the single-family elevator townhouse belonging to Real Housewife Sonja Morgan. For some unfathomable reason, Morgan and her Real Workhusband (now ex-husband) John Adams Morgan, a descendant of J.P. Morgan, paid $9.1 million for the 4,500-square-foot house—un-renovated—in 1998, which was not a year when most people were paying nine million dollars for an un-renovated 10-room townhouse next to a parking garage.
Now, 15 years and one renovation later, Morgan is having an impossible time finding a buyer. She listed the house in 2008 for $12 million, delisted it, re-listed for $9.25 million, chopped the price down to $7.25 million, then delisted it again, telling the Real Deal that she had decided to keep the house "in order to provide stability for her then 11-year-old daughter." Three years later, she put it back on the market for $9.995 million. The most recent pricechop brings it to $8.25 million.
