NYC's long tradition of great public art will continue this spring with a new sculpture coming to Rockefeller Center. Van Gogh's Ear is the work of artists Elmgreen & Dragset, and will stand at the Fifth Avenue entrance to the Channel Gardens at Rockefeller Center. If the photo above isn't telling enough, the sculpture will look like a swimming pool flipped on its side. The artists took inspiration from Marcel Duchamp's readymades, which elevated ordinary objects to high art.
