A planned 51-story office building in the Hudson Yards neighborhood is finally above ground, new construction photos by Field Condition have revealed. The 780-foot tower at 55 Hudson Yards has been almost a decade in the making, and when we last checked in with the project in the summer of 2015, the foundation work was just getting underway.
The Related Companies-developed building is located right behind the entrance to the 7 Train stop at Hudson Yards, and will also include space for retail when it is complete. Early last year, Japanese company, Mitsui Fudosan acquired a 92.09 percent stake in the project.
The design for the office tower is a collaboration between Kohn Pedersen Fox, and Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates. The project is expected to be complete sometime in 2018.
