Little more than one tumultuous year after Billy Bush closed on the townhouse at 224 West 22nd Street, the disgraced former Today Show host has severed ties with the property. The sale of the Chelsea townhouse hit public record on Friday, showing that the man made infamous by an appalling tape featuring Mr. Trump suffered a loss of $1.4 million in the sale.
Bush purchased the property in December 2015 for $8.8 million and first listed the townhouse in April 2016 for $8.9 million, even before the notorious tape leaked. But the townhouse underwent a series of price chops towards the end of the year suggesting the TV host sought to make a quick break. The house entered contract in early January.
According to public record, an LLC called Thomas Anthony Holdings shelled out $7.425 million for the property—about $1.4 million less than bush paid for the house. The townhouse was being marketed with approved expansion and renovation plans designed by ODA New York. Among the approved renovations are a return of the high stoop found on the block’s other townhouses as well as a renovation of the townhouse’s rear wall to fit floor-to-ceiling windows on the entertaining floors.
