It isn’t just Jersey City that’s seeing new development when it comes to the far side of the Hudson. As long as the land is New York City adjacent, it seems like its fair game for a commuter-friendly apartment building that offers up city-style apartments at slightly more attainable prices. At that, please welcome The Duchess, a 320-rental building with interiors and amenities designed by interior designer du jour Paris Forino.
The three-towered building unleashed its apartments onto the market today, with studios priced from $2,415, one-bedrooms from $2,695, two-bedrooms from $4,145, and three-bedrooms from $5,795.
For those prices, tenants also get access to a spate of amenities including a “water terrace” with views of Manhattan and a heated pool and hot tub, private cabana beds, and sun chaises; a “veranda” with a yoga deck, sand box, table tennis, a fire pit, and built-in seating areas; a rooftop indoor/outdoor salon with a bar and a kitchen; co-working spaces; and plenty of amenity space for kids including a playroom and art studio.
The apartments include kitchens with a choice of two finish packages and quartz countertops, induction cooktops, Bosch dishwashers, Grohe fixtures, and a french door refrigerator. Bathrooms are decked out in travertine tile surrounds, mirrors with integrated makeup lighting, and showers with rain shower heads and glass doors.
Although by the map the building at 7601 River Road in North Bergen is a jump over the river to West 86th Street, it’ll take commuters about 40 minutes to reach Times Square by bus. Developer Post Brothers is helming the project, with Vijay Kale Architects leading up the design. Move-ins will start July 1.
