Jon Stewart is ditching the West Village to move in with Mike Piazza. Well, not literally, but the Observer's Michael Calderone reports that the "Daily Show" host has just closed on a $5.8 million loft in the same Tribeca building that currently houses the New York catcher. The Hudson St. duplex penthouse features a 600-square-foot terrace, a 1,200-square-foot private roof and more exposures than an SVA photo lab.
Just how big is Stewart's new pad? Big enough to house the previous tenants?all 1,000 of them. Back in the day the building used to be the Wetlands Preserve rock club, so it's not surprising that the seller housed 1,000 turtles in the place before moving them to a refuge in New Jersey. And if that's not a reality show in the making, we're not sure what is. "This is the true story of 1,000 turtles, picked to live in a house..."
