It's almost time for the Lower East Side's pyschedelic closeup as shooting day for Julie Taymor's Across the Universe draws neigh. (In fact, if you've got a car parked anywhere in the vicinity of Clinton Street, Curbed humbly suggests that you move it by 7pm tonight, per the thousands of paper no-parking signs now blanketing the hood.) With less than 24 hours until shooting begins, the crazed squad of neighborhood refurbishers are hard at work this morning turning the Clinton/Rivington nexus into even more of an Haight-Ashbury wonderland. Behold their latest work above, with three bonus shots after the jump.
