When the New York Times ventures into seedy service journalism, it's a great day to be alive. Witness today's news report about the controversy surrounding Sunset Park strip club Sweet Cherry, obviously just an excuse to assemble the handy NYC porn map seen above. (Recall that we've been down this road before.)
Actually, these are the 21 strip clubs under fire. To the stats: "In 1993, the city counted 68 topless bars. By 2000 there were 57. The Law Department now counts 21 that could be closed if certain zoning rules are approved in court. About 10 more — including Sweet Cherry — remain within the zoning bounds." We now wait for those Columbia Urban Planners to update their Manhattan porn map—the Scores, if you will, of this particular genre.
