Maybe they should start calling Union Avenue in Williamsburg, Demolition Row, at least until it becomes Construction Way and, finally, Luxe Condo Avenue. The old Beach Russ factory building, which used to be on the right in the photo, fell in late July. Now, the fence is up around the old Manhattan Chocolate factory, which is on the left, probably best known to current residents for the murals covering its walls. (Another huge site between Roebling, N. 10th and Union was cleared last year.) Demolition permits on the empty building are hot off the press. The future six-story occupant currently has the name of McCarren Park Estates. The yelllow-looking building will have 62 apartments.
