The last time a lot of people paid attention to Ward Bakery, it was starting to demolish itself and teaching everyone what a "parapet" is. Well, the Prospect Heights building--that sits in the Atlantic Yards footprint and that preservationists had asked developer Bruce Ratner to save and redevelop--is on its way to the big bakery in the sky. Demolition was supposed to start within the next couple of weeks, but it looks like it could be underway sooner than that. Should anyone want to have a look at the building, photographer Tracy Collins, who's been taking thousands of photos of the neighborhood, has a mega-set of Ward Bakery pictures. Meanwhile, walk on the other side of the street.
