The welcomed move of Alexander Hamilton's Grange mansion to the northwest corner of St. Nicholas Park is not without controversy. The big issue right now is that the National Park Service will swing the house around to face West 141st Street, meaning the front door will face northeast instead of southwest, as it was oriented upon completion in 1802. That's a big no-no, according to preservationists. Drama! [NYT; previously]
