It looks like one of the big Karl Fischer "monster towers" planned for the corner of Grand Street and Driggs Avenue, which was recently rezoned after a bitter fight, is being seriously cut down to size. A banner that was just hung on the site offering retail space led to a new rendering of the much reduced building, which appears to have gone from ten stories down to about four and is being offered as a "build to suit retail opportunity." The building at 207 Grand would offer 8,339 square feet of retail or office space on the first and second floors and 6,000 square feet on a lower level and 6,000 square feet of rooftop space. There have been no revised applications for the Hot Karl Mini submitted to the Buildings Department where the original documents for the Tall Hot Karl is still on file.
