A Brooklyn judge has said that an 18-foot-tall, 200-foot-long metal fence in Red Hook that is keeping people in the park away from Henry Street Basin (part of Gowanus Bay leading to the Gowanus Canal) has to go. Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe says getting rid of the fence "opens Brooklyn’s picturesque waterfront" and give people "another reason to visit this fabled community park." What, Ikea isn't enough?
