The mysterious futzing around with the Broadway-Lafayette subway stop has given way to full-on gaping maw, and Bowery Boogie has photos and this report: "As it stands, riders on the B/D/F/V lines can only transfer to the downtown 6 train at this stop. Lucky for us, though, a plan is securely in place to finally connect the uptown artery. Hence all the earth-moving construction near the corner of Lafayette and Houston. The project is slated to last four years, but in city-speak that really translates to at least five." [Bowery Boogie]
