More trouble for developer Kent Swig at his Sheffield57 condo conversion near Columbus Circle, where now The Real Deal reports he's being sued for failure to pay $5.4 million in common charges on the hundreds of unsold apartments in the former rental tower. The lawsuit aims to slap liens on the unsold units so Swig will have to pay off the charges before selling the apartments or refinancing the building's debt. Buyers have expressed concerns that the building's reserve fund will run dry, and liens for unpaid renovation work are piling up. [Real Deal; previously]
