The New York Times ponders the legal implications of the sukkah, or "ceremonial hut," that's up now in Bryant Park for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. City recognition of the religious festival could be a "constitutional problem," said one scholar. But New Yorkers sitting near the sukkah seemed, God bless 'em, largely oblivious. Said one: “It’s part of the fabric of the city...like Fashion Week a couple of weeks ago, but with more yarmulkes.” [NYT]
