Because the West Village is so '70s and Chelsea is so '80s and Staten Island is so '90s, Time Out New York has anointed Hell's Kitchen as New York's new "gayborhood." Rufus Wainwright explains why: "I live at 23rd and Ninth— the border of Gay Oz. But I find myself more interested in Hell’s Kitchen these days: It’s where all the Midwestern boys go when they want to be on Broadway. Very gay." But some of the old guard, like Michael Musto, still carries a torch for the West Village. [TONY]
