Community Board 2 is standing firmly in the path of the wrecking ball at 73-75 Sullivan Street, unanimously denying developer Zaccaro Realty's request for a zoning change. Zaccaro was hoping for zoning that would allow a restaurant or bar on street level, and planned to build a five-story residential building above it. According to the Villager, "Zaccaro's attorney did not disagree with the committee when it asked if the insistence on a commercial designation was motivated purely by profit." But hey, at least that knocks out loose morals as a motive. [Villager; previously]
