Fresh off the High Line and the new-look Lincoln Center, the Diller Scofidio & Renfro roadshow is in our nation's capital, where the firm has designed a 145-foot-tall bubble that bursts out of the top of the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum. The bubble, installed twice a year, would serve as an inflatable meeting hall, and NYT architecture critic Nicolai Ouroussoff is already calling the plan a "pure delight" and "uplifting."
