In a rare instance of coming down against developers, the shadowy Board of Standards & Appeals appeared to say nuh-uh to the the team behind Park Slope's 580 Carroll Street (aka Garfield Sparta), who wanted to 86 their planned front yard concept in favor of additional zoning-busting housing. Now Brownstoner reports that work is progressing on the portion of land at the heart of the controversy, and it appears Mexican starchitect Enrique Norten's original concept is being carried through. Which probably won't appease many folks on this lively comment thread, but at least the saga is over.
