EAST HARLEM?Before Harlem's La Marqueta Mile becomes a reality, the La Marqueta building itself is getting new life. To reactivate the old abandoned city-owned food market under the Metro North tracks along Park Avenue, the EDC has recruited Hot Bread Kitchen to operate a 4,000-square-foot "kitchen incubator" that will help small entrepreneurs grow their food-related businesses. Construction has started, and the incubator is expected to open by the end of the year. Next up will be getting the market fully up and running. Hot Bread Kitchen is already signed up for a retail space. [EDC]
UPPER EAST SIDE?Developer Aby Rosen may be giving up buildings and PriceChopping all over town, but one Curbed tipster thinks he's about to acquire Bianca Jagger's old digs. Rumormongering time! "Just wanted to give you the head's up that Aby Rosen may be closing his deal to buy 530 Park Avenue. Lawyers were drafting documents yesterday and there are new plans in the works for the renovations, which had stalled. Fortunately this time there won't be the ugly all-gold lobby that the previous owners thought was 'classy.' One visitor described the ambience as something you'd find in a bordello in Dubai..." Burn! The building last sold for $211 million in 2007. [CurbedWire Inbox]
