As expected after a slow summer of contract signings, Manhattan co-op and condo sales dropped a severe 16.5 percent from September to October, according to a Journal analysis of Department of Finance data. The numbers hint at more of an impact from federal housing tax credits than many initially thought. But hey, even if no one's buying, large open house crowds are keeping brokers busy. [WSJ]
