Only God and Exxon know what's really buried beneath Williamsburg, but some locals are pretty ticked off about a "toxic oil spill and other contaminants" in the ground at 11 Broadway. That's the site of a new 15-story mixed-income rental building and supermarket, and neighbors want the place cleaned up before construction begins. There used to be a gas station there, hence the oil, and no remediation plans has been submitted. Remember to rinse those grapes! [Brooklyn Paper]
