We know it isn't New York, but we could definitely see this being big here. And we just love a good egg story. After being unable to afford living in Beijing's high-rises, this young architect hatched the idea to move into his own giant egg. The abode is "made from sack bags on the outside wall, bamboo splints on the inside and wood chippings and grass seeds in between" and according to the architect, “The seeds will grow in the natural environment and it’s cold-proof". The cost to create the compact home was just short of $1,000! It's a steal if you look at how much some one bedrooms are going for. And hey, it's even cheaper than what some nests will run you. So, whaddya think, let's bring a few dozen of these to New York?
