One category of homes that doesn't need to worry about the whole market downturn: houses on Long Island where people have been murdered. First there was the Amityville Horror House, which went into contract a few short months after hitting the market. Now there's the home of serial killer Joel Rifkin, whose East Meadow home has gone into contract, Newsday reports. The house, where Rifkin killed some his victims in the basement and bedrooms, had its price (sorry) chopped (again, sorry) from $424,500 to $349,998 before finding a buyer. And yep, they're aware of the place's dark history. Since it was advertised as a "handyman's special," maybe the buyer can brighten the place up a bit?
