Truthfully, we're interested in every Forward Building apartment that pops up on the market, but throw in a troubled former screen star and Oscar winner and an alarm goes off inside Curbed HQ. Back in 2006, Tatum O'Neal bought a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in the condo-converted former home of the socialist Jewish Daily Forward newspaper, a gorgeously restored Lower East Side landmark at 175 East Broadway. She paid $1.425 million, and lived there until 2008, when she was arrested near the building for trying to buy crack. Happens to everyone. O'Neal relocated to L.A., and now the Post's Jennifer Gould Keil notes that the 1,435sqft condo is finally on the market, through Corcoran, for $1.495 million. Coolest feature: The plaster dome in the ceiling of the Great Room. That's not counting the likeness of Karl Marx carved into the building's facade, of course. Now there was a guy who knew how to appreciate luxury living!
