Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New York City neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $5,200/month.
A couple weeks ago we went low; now we're going high! Prepare to look at these listings and be depressed because you'll never be able to live in such a nice apartment, or because that's all $5,200 rents you? Either way, we're sorry.
? First up, this Dobro condo (Dobrondo) looks quite nice. $5,250/month nice? We'll let you be the judge of that. It's got an open living room/kitchen/dining area, two baths, and a private roofdeck.
? You can rent a studio apartment in The Plaza (in Midtown) for $5,300/month, you know, if that’s something you really want to do. Seriously, who does this? A studio apartment? You could rent the entire city of St. Louis for $5,300 a month.
? In FiDi, this 1,242-square-foot 2BR, 2BA condo is available for $5,300/month on the 27th floor of Downtown by Philippe Starck. This is more like it.
? In Dumbo's Sweeney Building, this 1,270-square-foot 1.5BR, 1.5BA (perfect if your roommate is a half-person...or if you have a kid) is available for $5,300/month.
? This 2BR, 1.5BA condo is available on the Upper West Side for $5,200/month, in a building called "The Hermitage." Sounds promising.
? If you have scientific experiments you want to perform using people as subjects, this Noho...uh...loft looks like the place you'd probably do it. The $5,200/month includes utilities, which is good because it takes a lot of electricity to reanimate a human corpse. Trust us.
