Brooklyn's most uninspiring neighborhood will soon be home to a makeshift village of shipping containers. From June 22 to July 1, the Pier 3 uplands, currently under construction as part of Brooklyn Bridge Park, will be filled with 30 cargo container art galleries for Photoville. Each container will be turned into a photography exhibition space, and the surrounding "village" will have workshops, a picnic area, and of course, a beer garden and food trucks. The organizer have taken to Kickstarter to help raise funds to also create a "camera greenhouse," a place with "cameras blooming out of tulips, lilies, sunflowers myriads, and over a dozen other kinds of flowers," and a dog run with a walk-in camera obscura to offer "an immersive photographic experience and a one-of-a-kind view of dogs at play." Because no art event should be without a play space for four-legged friends.
