Queens preservationist Nancy Cataldi was such an advocate for preservation in the borough's Richmond Hill neighborhood that her street was renamed in her honor after her death. Which makes what happened to her own house that much sadder, as Scouting New York discovered on a recent visit to the house, originally built in 1905. The first time he saw the house, it looked like the picture on the left; now, it looks like the one on the right. We're only surprised he didn't see Cataldi's angry ghost prowling around the place. The new owners apparently renovated due to a carpenter ant infestation, but we're not sure how they got from carpenter ants to?that.
