Bravo, guest #10! You correctly guessed this week's Cornerspotter as the north side of 125th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues. The large building with the warehouse billboard ultimately gave it away, as it pretty much looks the same today. Our winner knew the location, but did not know that the now-gone building was the Majestic Hall at 115 to 125 East 125th Street. The photo shows the building in 1904, when it housed the Orpheum Theater and the entertainment hall. From what we can discern from DOB archives, it was torn down in 1916 and replaced with the current low-rise building that now houses Iglesia La Sinagoga, a center of Pentecostalism.
