Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New York City neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $3,200/month.
? In Chelsea, this 800-square-foot 2BR is available for $3,100/month. It features a windowed kitchen with a dishwasher as well as a windowed bath, and the building has a few amenities—part time doorman, laundry on every floor, bike room, elevator. The downside is that you'll be looking for a new place before long, as this apartment is only available "on a short-term basis."
? Across town from the last place, in Gramercy, a renovated 1BR, 1.5BA duplex is available for $3,300/month. It includes a working fireplace.
? For everyone in the comments section clamoring for more Queens, here's a 2BR, 2BA in Astoria for $3,300/month with no fee. It looks okay?
? In Nolita, a 1BR in 200 Bowery is going for $3,250/month fully furnished. That includes a 32" flatscreen and WiFi.
? Although Streeteasy places it within the boundaries of Downtown Brooklyn, this luxury 1BR seems pretty convinced that it's in Fort Greene (the building is called Avalon Fort Greene) so we'll just go with that. The Avalon has a great number of amenities including a doorman, gym, cold storage, bike room, and more. It costs $3,122/month.
? And, last but possibly least, the Lower East Side offers this 750-square-foot 1BR "penthouse" for $3,200/month. It features an eat-in kitchen and a balcony.
