Is the three-story red house at the corner of Bowery and Pell Street in Chinatown the city's oldest row house? Perhaps! It was built between 1785 and 1789 by meat wholesaler Edward Mooney, and he lived there until 1800. The land later became a saloon and a brothel. These days, some of the original details, like the hand-hewn timbers, survive. [ENY]
