Do you look at the renderings for Santiago Calatrava's World Trade Center transportation hub and think hmm, lovely-looking place for a wedding? You might be in luck. The space will be rentable for events like fundraisers, weddings, and art shows, and screens and sound systems will be added during construction to make it more of an event space and less like, well, a transportation hub. Given the way construction costs ballooned for this particular piece of the new World Trade Center, this seems like an obvious strategy for bringing in extra cash. [NYP; previously]
