Since Citi Bike is literally the only thing people talk about these days, here's something cool for stats/map/bike-share nerds: Oliver O'Brien—a researcher with the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis at the University College London—has created a real-time map for bike-share programs around the world, New York City included. The map collects data from docks as bikes are taken and returned, revealing the organically formed rhythms of the city-wide system. It's a fascinating project and very fun to play around with, despite making abundantly clear the fact that we're losing to the Europeans. [O'Brien; previously]
