The Nissan NV200 (the model nobody liked much in the first place) was crowned the Taxi of Tomorrow two years ago. Many tomorrows have passed, yet it is not here. The cars' introduction to the streets has been delayed by legal battles, including the fact that there is no hybrid option. But WAIT, the TLC passed a new set of rules allowing cab operators to purchase a hybrid alternative to the sexy Nissan minivan, at least until a hybrid version of the NV200 is available. The first phase of the roll-out is expected to begin this fall. Wait, how many more tomorrows down the road is that? [NYDN; previously]
