? Last weekend, we profiled townhouses for under $3 million; this time, we're going to take it one step further by looking at three townhouses for under $2 million. First up, in Clinton Hill, this five-story brick townhouse has six bedrooms and five bathsfour bathrooms and two powder rooms, two wood-burning fireplaces, two terraces, marble bathrooms, a finished basement, and a nice garden. It's currently being used as a single-family, but can easily be converted to two. Asking price is $1.85 million.
? Next up is a three-story townhouse in Prospect Heights for $1.695 million. The charm here is in the details, such as an original wood-burning fireplace and mantel, wide-plank floors, mahogany-carved moldings, and a kitchen with a coal-burning Vermont Casting stove. The garden is huge, with fig trees and grape vines, that "takes you out of Brooklyn and plops you right down in the middle of a small European village, sometime long ago." Sounds dangerous.
? Lastly, over in Bedford-Stuyvesant, this four-story brownstone could definitely use some work and details are scant, but there seem to be some really nice original details, such as the the dark hardwood molding and tiled mosaics. It's also in a nice location, right on the corner of leafy Arlington Place. The brokerbabble theatrically describes it as "a must-see for townhouse enthusiasts . . . a must-have for townhouse collectors . . . a will-have for only one." It's asking $1.795 million.
