Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New York City neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $2,700/month.
? In Harlem, this odd—but kind of cool—garden/basement duplex is asking $2,700/month. Everything is exposed brick and tile and there's a greenhouse-like part leading to private backyard. There's also a sort of catwalk. The listing suggests that it be used as an artist studio, which seems about right.
? An updated 1BR in Clinton Hill with a small office/large closet is going for $2,700/month. It has retained a few original details such as molding, decorative mantles, and tall windows. It's a third floor walkup.
? In Prospect Heights, a new 3BR/1BA with some fake-looking exposed brick is asking $2,695/month. It includes a dishwasher, central air, and laundry in the building.
? If you want to make it into Lower Manhattan, there's this railroad 2BR on the fifth floor of a prewar walk-up building in the East Village. It might not be ideal for roommates, considering that you have to go through one of the bedrooms to reach the bathroom. It costs $2,795/month.
? And in Fort Greene, a 4BR/1BA in a new building on Carlton Avenue is going for $2,800/month with no fee.
? On the Upper West Side, this dark-floored, renovated 1BR is asking $2,700/month. The whole unit is brand new and the bedroom looks relatively spacious, with multiple windows.
