Evelyn and Everett Ortner may be The Couple Who Saved Park Slope—having bought a brownstone there for $32,000 in 1963, they worked tirelessly until their deaths in 2006 and 2012 to ensure the neighborhood's historic preservation. But that brownstone, as immaculately preserved as it is, is not quite in name-your-price territory, apparently. After being listed last month for $4.8 million, 272 Berkeley Place just had its asking price chopped by a whopping $1 million, to $3.8 million.
