Harlem residents have accused Charles Rangel of getting an addition to a City College-owned townhouse approved by the Landmarks Commission without any public review because it was to be the site of his eponymous center. "Was" being the operative word—in reality, what was to be the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service will instead be the Colin L. Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership after Powell donated $5 million to the college last month. Rangel has thrown his support behind the people saying that the addition should have been reviewed more. [NYDN; previously]
