Listings website Zumper has come through once again, churning out some easy-to-parse statistics about median rents throughout Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn and Queens based on new listings in the month of January.
When it came to one-bedrooms, Tribeca was the most expensive neighborhood, coming in at an even $4K per month. It was closely followed by Battery Park City ($3,600/month), the West Village ($3,595), and FiDi ($3,550/month). More affordable areas? Astoria, Long Island City, Greenpoint, and the Lower East Side, where your monthly payment can be as low as $1,850.
Shocker, Tribeca "wins" again, earning the title of the priciest neighborhood in which to rent a two-bedroom, which go for about $6,000/month. Steer clear of Soho, BPC, the Financial District, and Midtown. For a relative deal, opt instead for Astoria, Greenpoint, or (surprisingly) Williamsburgall of which have 2BRs for a median price of $3,100 a month or less.
