Dissenters continue to protest the construction of an 11-story tower that will essentially "encase" Chelsea's French Evangelical Church in concrete. On Sunday, neighborhood residents gathered in front of the church to argue that the proposed building's architectural style is visually unappealing and its scale is out-of-context with the surrounding structures, which top-out around six stories. The church's air rights were sold to Einhorn Development Group several months ago in an effort to garner funds to refurbish the ailing 1835 house of worship. [NY 1; previously]
