This construction fence rendering for a new eight-story affordable building at 482 Franklin Avenue was spotted by Brownstoner. It doesn't look like much (apparently no one is taking Justin Davidson's advice yet) but it doesn't look that bad either, and, as 'Stoner points out, it could be worse. Designed by Aufgang Subotovsky Architecture, the building will be named after late Chase Vice President in Community Development Banking/affordable housing champion Revered Elliott J. Hobbs.
Construction has been going on for almost a year, and seven of the eight stories have already been built. When finished, the building will contain 100 affordable studios, one- and two-bedrooms, 33 enclosed parking spaces, 47 bike storage spots, a ground-floor gym, and a below ground recreation space. As indicated by the rendering, some of the apartments will come with balconies. The project is being developed by Realty Within Reach and Joy Construction Corp. A detailed breakdown of who will be able to qualify to live in the building is available on the NYC Housing Development Corporation website.
