Centurion Real Estate Partners plans to convert the rental building at 22 River Terrace into condos, and tenants are up in arms over the plans. But since all of the units are market rate, the developers can do pretty much as they please, which in this case means not renewing leases and exercising 90-day cancellation riders that were added to leases last year to clear out the building. Tenants say they were "mis-led" about the entire process, but since Centurion is not breaking any laws, there's little they can do but pack up and leave. [NYP; previously]
