Old wood frame houses throughout Brooklyn are increasingly being demolished to make way for new development. Brownstoner spotted new demolition permits for more than a half dozen houses and notes that at least five others were recently razed. A preservationist at the Wooden House Project said that "wooden houses right now are especially vulnerable because of the trend in people moving to places like Bushwick and Greenwood Heights. People can't afford to buy in Brownstone Brooklyn anymore, so they're moving to frame-heavy neighborhoods." [Brownstoner]
