It looks like things are moving forward with 43-25 Hunter Street after all. New renderings have been released for what is slated to become Long Island City's second-tallest residential tower, following the Department of Building's twice-over rejection of its plans. The new renderings from SLCE come following late last week's partial approval of permits, says YIMBY.
The Rockrose-developed tower is expected to rise 50 stories with an adjoined 14-story tower and occupy 970,000-square-feet. The building will have 974 apartments, 20 percent of which will be affordable, and amenities including ground floor retail, a yoga studio, basketball courts, and a billiard room. At 509 feet tall, the tower's only residential height rivalat least for nowwill be Heatherwood's 42-12 28th Street which will rise 646 feet.
The $400 million tower hopes to rise on a site formerly occupied by seven low-rise warehouses. It is expected in 2016.
