Despite being added to the National Trust For Historic Preservation's register of national treasures in April, the New York State Pavilion from the 1964-1965 World's Fair has fallen on hard times. It has not been particularly well maintained up to this point, is in need of a lot of repairs, and just last week some people broke in and set a stolen van on fire because that's apparently a thing that people do. However, the Pavilion just got some good news as the neighboring New York Mets have announced that they will donate a portion of Friday's ticket sales to People for the Pavilion, an advocacy group. A very small portion, in all likelihood — $5 each from only the tickets purchased through mets.com/pavilion will go towards the cause, and not all that many people are buying Mets tickets in the first place these days. But still, it's something. Also, people who purchase those tickets will get a tee-shirt with a silhouette of the Pavilion in Mets colors.
