This classic apartment at the Ansonia (the Upper West Side's favorite former gangster hangout/bathhouse) nia has been on the market for about a month now, and it's asking $25,000/month. That's nothing to sneeze at, but the apartment itself is pretty special. It has 11' ceilings with chandeliers, lots of windows, and 2,800 square feet of space. Most notably, the sixth-floor apartment includes a portion of the famed Beaux-Arts turret, forming a large, circular living room that looks out over Broadway. There's also a narrow wraparound balcony, herringbone floors, and lots of nice preserved details.
Still, broker Moustafa Moussa admits that the apartment could use some work; the current occupant apparently has a full-size skeleton just hanging out in the master bedroom, among some other issues.
It is, however, a highly defensible position in the event of Viking raids, and can you really put a price on safety?
