Although it's been operational in the same location since 1929, the all-girls Spence School on East 91st Street between Madison and Fifth avenues looks largely the same as it did back in the day. That is baring a few expansions, including what appears to be one on the building's west face, reportedly as well as the contested glass and steel atrium between the East 91st Street building and the Wanamaker Munn House on East 90th Street that a representative for Spence uncertainly verified. Spence is largely taken as the inspiration for the New York City prep school-centric late CW series Gossip Girl.
