The trans-Hudson River tunnel is inching right along. Construction of a $185M concrete box under Hudson Yards is complete, and now Amtrak officials are applauding themselves for being ready to start the "first tangible step" toward actual construction of the tunnel, which will be the first new tunnel in more than a century. An environmental review will likely start in the coming months. So to recap: there is no construction timeline for the tunnel, but everyone should be optimistic that a review will hopefully start soon. [WJS; previously]
